We want every Studio 56 KE session to land. Sometimes plans change — here’s how we handle that fairly for both artists and our team.
Cancellation window
Cancel by phone at least 6 hours before your session and your full deposit is refunded within 24 hours.
Why a phone call? Once you book, we line up the right instrumentalists for your session — Lead Guitarist, Bassist, Drummer, Keyboardist, Backup Vocalist depending on your package. They travel to studio and block out time. A call gives us enough notice to release the slot to another artist and let the team know early.
Late cancellations (less than 6 hours notice)
If you cancel after the team has already left for the studio, we cover their fuel and time from your deposit before refunding the rest. Specifically:
- Compensation deducted: the actual fuel cost + a session-prep fee that covers the time the instrumentalists have already invested.
- Remaining balance: refunded within 24 hours, OR carried forward to a rescheduled session — your call.
We always tell you exactly what was deducted and why. Receipts on request.
Rescheduling
You can reschedule any session for free up to 6 hours before. Past that point the late-cancellation rules above apply, but the deducted amount applies as credit toward your new booking instead of a refund — so you don’t pay twice.
No-show
If a customer doesn’t show up and doesn’t call, the deposit is forfeit. The team still got fuel + time + opportunity cost out of their day.
Studio-caused cancellations
If the issue is on our side — power outage, gear failure, an instrumentalist falling sick — your deposit is fully refunded within 24 hours OR your session is rescheduled at no extra cost, whichever you prefer. We’ll usually offer both.

Refund method: deposits are refunded to the same M-Pesa number you paid from. If you paid by card, refund goes back to the same card.
